GWS SHORTEST ODDS EVER, FREO BEST BACKED FOR THE FLAG

The Giants incredible upset victory over the Swans has turned their Round 2 match with the Saints on its head, with GWS firming from $2.10 outsiders to $1.57 favourites with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au over the weekend.

It will be the shortest price the Giants have ever been and only the second time they have started a match as favourites, with their previous shortest price $1.75 against Melbourne last year.

In other betting movements since the weekend:

· Round 2 Port Adelaide v Adelaide: Port’s upset win versus Carlton has seen them move from outsiders to favourites in the Round 2 showdown. They are in from $1.90 to $1.75 while the Crows are out from $1.85 to $2.00.

· Freo firm for flag: Fremantle have firmed big time for the flag, in from $5.00 to $4.25. They now have double the money bet on them than any other team.

· Gold Coast & GWS’s flag odds halved: They are still big outsiders, but their upset wins have seen their odds for the flag halved. The Giants are in from $301 to $151 while the Suns are in from $126 to $51.

· Saints set for Spoon?: They haven’t even played a game yet, but the Saints have firmed from $2.50 to $2.25 to win the least amount of games. After beating the Swans, the Giants are out from $2.25 to $3.50.

· Westhoff Coleman odds firm: Westhoff’s five goal haul last night has seen him firm from $67 to $26 to win the Coleman.

· Ablett firms for Brownlow: Its not even Round 2, but Gary Ablett is already into $5.00 for the Brownlow, coming in from $7.00.

“We didn’t have the Giants as favourites next week against the Saints, but after seeing how good they were against the Swans, how could we not make them the team to beat?” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.
