Aussie actress Cate Blanchett had better start working on her acceptance speech, with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au pricing her at Black Caviar like odds of $1.04 to win the Best Actress Oscar for her role in Blue Jasmine.

Blanchett is considered one of the safest bets for the evening, with only Frozen to win the Best Animated Feature Oscar ($1.03) and Gravity to win the Best Cinematography Oscar ($1.03) amongst the shorter odds.

The shortest odds overall goes to Gravity to win the Best Visual Effects Oscar, priced at $1.01.

However it’s 12 Years A Slave that looks to be the biggest winner overall, favourite in three of the seven categories it is nominated for, including being the $1.17 favourite to win the Best Picture Oscar.

“We have Cate Blanchett at the same odds Black Caviar used to run around at, we think she is that much of a sure thing,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.
