It’s been 10 years since he last won the US Masters, and 7 years since his last major, but punters are rallying behind Tiger Woods to make a triumphant return to golf at Augusta this weekend.

Bookmaker WilliamHill.com.au has been forced to trim Tiger’s odds of winning the green jacket from $51 into $34 this week after a string of bets for the former World Number 1.

“Our punters have gone Tiger mad and we are taking more bets for him than any other player at the moment,” said William Hill’s Andrew Brown.

“He’s rumoured to be hitting the ball well and is exuding confidence in his media interviews, and our punters have latched on to that.”

William Hill is also offering odds of $8.50 that Tiger manages to win a major this year.

World number one Rory McIlroy maintains favouritism, but has eased from $6.50 to $7 at William Hill.

Jason Day is considered be the top Aussie prospect and is a $12 equal third favourite with Bubba Watson. 2013 winner Adam Scott is $17.
