Semi Radradra is slowly slipping away from the Parramatta Eels, choosing to call time on his NRL career following the upcoming season.
The Fijian standout is going to have a go at French rugby, having agreed to join Toulon for two years for $1.5 million.
Parramatta did not have the funds to match the French offer, as Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal has a huge war chest and is not afraid to deploy it in the quest for what he wants.
The Eels had been doing everything in their power to prevent Radradra from slipping through their fingers, but Eels, number one, lack fingers, but in this case were blown out of the water by the offer from Toulon, making their efforts to extend his NRL deal entirely futile.
This is not the first time Toulon has poached big name players from countries outside of France. They have, in the past, lured such as Sonny Bill Williams, Matt Giteau, Jonny Wilkinson and Drew Mitchell to the sunny coast of southern France.
Radradra came to light in 2015, scoring 24 tries. In 2016, he was hurt at times, but did make a Test debut for the Kangaroos before being forced to deal with what these days seems almost a requisite issue, charges of domestic violence.
