With pre-season training getting underway for NRL teams, there has been a lot of activity involving players moving to new teams.

Brisbane and North Queensland had few changes. The Sea Eagles, Knights, Sharks, Warriors and Eels, on the other hand, have a significant number of changes.

The Broncos have added four new players whilst losing fourteen who have retired, moved to other teams, or been released. Coach Wayne Bennett’s future is still undecided.

The Sharks picked up eight new players and lost 11 for various reasons. They are also waiting to decide coach Shane Flanagan’s fate.

The Knights have added five new names to their roster, shedding 14, but have retained Nathan Brown as their 2016 coach.

It might be hard for supporters to recognize the Sea Eagles. They added 11 players who were not on the roster last year. Sixteen players from last year are now gone. Coach Trent Barrett will spend considerable training time learning everyone’s names.

The Eels will feature 13 new players in 2016, with 12 leaving, only Beau Champion for reasons of retirement. Brad Arthur is waiting to see if his coaching position is safe.

Finally, the Warriors have eight players joining the club for 2016. Thirteen players have jumped to other teams or changed codes. Like many other NRL coaches, Andrew McFadden awaits a decision on his position.
