Putting one’s money where one’s mouth is would require a huge investment from Conor McGregor, who has been shouting from the rooftops to anyone willing to listen for some length of time about his plans to demolish Floyd Mayweather in the boxing ring.
Mayweather’s side is offering McGregor $15 million. The question is, Is McGregor willing to take a certain beating for $15 million. How bad of a beating? Would he risk being propped up for six or seven rounds of pummeling, or would he prefer to go down in the early stages of round one?
The sums McGregor may have earned in the UFC may have met or exceeded Mayweather’s offer, but it is speculated that with McGregor’s cut of the pay-per-view revenues, the $15 million currently tabled could grow.
That sort of money would buy a lot of bespoke suits for McGregor and expert tattoo artistry, or tattoo removal, but regardless of how much he manages to extract from Mayweather, he could expect nothing other than a profound beating, as he would have to rely on only the fists in his arsenal and abandon his kicks.
Mayweather has been spelling since 2015, or retired, according to whose preferences are consulted, but it appears that he has grown weary of McGregor’s braggadocio and is eager to confront the vociferous Irishman in the ring.
