Mitchell Pearce hasn’t even been suspended yet but there are now more bets on the Roosters to win the wooden spoon than on any other side.

Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au has brought the Roosters’ price in from $101 to $67 in the Least Wins market as a result.

The Roosters have slipped from the second line of premiership betting to the third line after drifting from $7.00 out to $8.50.

Their minor premiership hopes have gone from $5.50 out to $7.00, while the tri-colours are now $2.10 to make the top 8 (out from $1.36).

“Punters have reacted to the Mitchell Pearce story by backing them to finish last but surely they’re taking the proverbial,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.
