Punters have abandoned young sprinter Terravista in favour of proven Group 1 performer Lankan Rupee for tomorrow night’s Group 1 Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley.
Terravista has been on the nose with punters at Sportingbet.com.au, and has drifted from $3.30 to $4 since Tuesday’s barrier draw.
Lankan Rupee has firmed from $4 into $3.90 outright favouritism.
“We have taken one bet of $10,000 for Terravista but we’re holding twice as much money for Lankan Rupee,” William Hill’s Andrew Brown said.
“Terravista hasn’t been in this sort of class before and hasn’t raced the Melbourne way and while obviously talented, punters clearly want a horse proven at this level.”
Buffering has also firmed from $6 into $5.50 since Tuesday, while Angelic Light has shortened from $17 to $11 during the same period courtesy of a string of bets including one of $2,000 at $17.
