Punters have completely written off New Zealand’s chances of winning back-to-back Rugby League World Cups.
New Zealand’s odds have ballooned from $3 to $3.55 at Sportingbet for Saturday’s final due to heavy support for Australia, which has firmed from $1.36 into $1.30.
“Our punters have ruled out any chance of a repeat of the 2008 upset,” William Hill’s Andrew Brown said.
“95% of the money we’re holding on the game is for Australia,” Brown said.
Brett Morris is a $7 favourite at Sportingbet.com.au to score the first try ahead of Greg Inglis, Jarryd Hayne and Darius Boyd all at $9.
