Watch out Jason Day. Texan Jordan Spieth has you in his sights as he had a rather easy time on the inward half of the 2016 Dean & Deluca Colonial Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas.
Spieth closed with a 30 on the back nine that included six birdies: three to begin and three to close, where he has shown strong signs of shaking off his Masters disaster by draining long putts on a day when no one in the field seemed capable of making anything over 20 feet (6 metres).
The only blemish he had was a bogey on the 13th hole. His chip-in for birdie from behind the hole on the 17th sealed the victory, allowing him to stroll up the 18th fairway needing only a bogey to win.
Steven Bowditch was amongst the leaders after rounds of 69 and 68 on Thursday and Friday, but a 71 on Saturday ended his chances and a final round 68 left him 13 shots back in a tie for 22nd. Still, it was his best finish of the season on the PGA Tour in 17 events, and he earned a cool $69, 680 USD for his four days of labour on the par-70 layout.
