Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au is offering $7.00 for any of the six Australians in the US Masters field to don the green jacket, but it’s American young gun Jordan Spieth who punters are tipping to win his first major.

Spieth has been the best backed ahead of another player destined to win a major, Aussie Jason Day at $13.

Surprisingly, there hasn’t been a lot of love for favourite and world number one Rory McIlroy ($6.50) or Australian Adam Scott at $17.

“With six Aussies in the field, the $7.00 on offer for any one of them to win the tournament has been popular with punters and Jason Day is our best chance according to the money trail,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.

Day and Scott are locked in a battle for favouritism to be the leading Australian with Day at $2.20 and Scott at $2.50.
