The late Guy Walter and media identity Ken Callander head betting for the next inductee into the Australian Racing Hall Of Fame.

Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au has posted Walter, who trained 36 Group 1 winners and Callander at $7.50.

Veteran Victorian jockey Darren Gauci shares the second line at $8.00 with leviathan owner Lloyd Williams and retired race caller John Tapp.

At the other end of betting, comeback jockey Danny Nikolic and 80’s ring-in horse, Fine Cotton, are $1001 to be inducted.

“There are plenty of worthy candidates in the list and it’s fitting that Guy Walter is one of the favourites. He was loved by many in the industry and was a champion trainer. It’s a matter of when not if for Guy to be inducted,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.
