Carlton have failed to kick a winning score this year and it’s little wonder according to a market by online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au which suggests their former forwards will outshine their current crop.

Watching both Josh Kennedy and Jarrad Waite kick bags of goals on the weekend would have made for horror viewing for any Blues fan, but it looks to be only the beginning, with Sportsbet pricing that no current Carlton player will kick more goals than Kennedy, Eddie Betts, Waite or Jeff Garlett.

Josh Kennedy looks hard to beat at $1.50 ahead of Betts ($3.50), Waite ($5.00) and Garlett ($10). If punters think the likes of Liam Jones or Levi Casboult can get it together they can jump on the odds of $12.

“Their forward line looks a bit bare at the moment. They have watched Kennedy dominate for years, but with Betts, Waite and Garlett starting well, the betting suggests the Carlton fans will be forced to wonder what could have been,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.

In other AFL betting news:

· Nat Fyfe has firmed again for the Brownlow, now into $4.00. He is a shorter price than Gary Ablett at the same time last year ($6.00). Ablett is now out to $14 to win this year.

· Punters are keen on Isaac Heeney to win the Rising Star, firming in from $8.00 to $6.00 despite missing the Round 2 nomination.
