The Duchess Of Cambridge’s recent public appearance has led to increased speculation on just what name will be given to the new royal baby.
Elizabeth has been the big firmer at William Hil, with punters backing the name from $13 into $5 favouritism since last month.
The odds of George being joined by a little sister called Charlotte have also nearly halved over the past few weeks, shortening from $15 into $8 second favouritism at William Hill.
According to the bookmaker, the top boys names are Alexander and James, both considered $11 chances.
“Recent sentiment has certainly swung towards the baby being a girl called Elizabeth or Charlotte,” said William Hill’s Andrew Brown.
“Charlotte is Pippa’s middle name and we all know the significance of Elizabeth, so it’s easy to see why they are both firming as the punters’ favourites.”
Bruce, Kylie and Shane are still considered outsiders at $101.
Odds of $17 are available about the baby being born on the Queen’s birthday.
