The $10 million investment the Milwaukee Bucks made in Matthew Dellavedova paid dividends recently when Delly posted a season-high 18 points in a Bucks 112 – 103 victory over the Brooklyn Nets.
He saved his best for last as well, scoring 12 in the fourth quarter at that point in the game where the score matters. He shot 60 percent from the field, making six of the rather economical total of ten taken and he was perfect from the charity stripe, making all six of his free throws.
Delly was also handing the ball to his mates efficiently, dishing out six assists.
The Milwaukee side has now won four consecutive with a record of 10 wins against eight losses as the NBA regular season has reached the 25 percent mark.
The Bucks have been benefitting from unselfish play, with six players in double digits. It must feel like a breath of fresh Maryborough air for Dellavedova, who spent several seasons in the atmosphere-starved environment of LeBron James, where basketball strategy was strictly limited to Give the Ball to LeBron or Find a Team in Europe.
Other Aussies in the NBA have been having productive seasons, including Andrew Bogut, Dane Exum and Joe Ingles.
