Sportsbet.com.au has given the favouritism nod to unbeaten Deep Field over hometown hero Lankan Rupee at Flemington on Saturday for the Lightning Stakes.
In a tough call the online bookie has opened Deep Field at $2.50, slightly ahead of Lankan Rupee at $2.80. Both horses are resuming from a spell in the Group 1 and will dominate the market.
“Deep Field heads betting at the moment, but that could change before Saturday. Lankan Rupee has a great following and there’s no doubt the punters will get behind him. Whatever the case it will be worth the admission to see these two great sprinters lock horns,” said sportsbet’s Shaun Anderson.
Another Group 1 winner, the Chris Waller trained three-year-old Brazen Beau, is on the third line at $6.00.
