THE BUFF BEST BACKED FOR BTC CUP
Queensland’s superstar sprinter Buffering has shortened in betting for Saturday’s Group 1 BTC Cup at Doomben, despite the threat of a rain-affected track.
Buffering, who finished two lengths behind Lankan Rupee on the heavy going at Randwick last start, has firmed from $3.20 into $2.80 at Sportingbet.com.au.
“He’s only missed the placings once in five starts on the heavy going and he’s saluted on a slow track so our punters don’t appear overly concerned by the weather,” William Hill’s Andrew Brown said.
A win would enhance Buffering’s Racehorse Of The Year credentials, where he is an $11 fourth favourite at Sportingbet.
Sidestep remains solid at $3.40 for Saturday’s BTC Cup in front of Snitzerland ($9) and Hot Snitzel ($9.50). Spirit Of Boom ($9 to $10) and Temple Of Boom ($10 to $12) have both eased.
