Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan had nothing but praise coming out of his mouth recently when the question was raised recently about Australian Blake Muir and Muir’s contribution to the team.

Ryan may be angling for NFL best and fairest and he does seem to be one of the leading contenders for that honour, which in the NFL is known as the MVP, since Muir is a practice squad player and will not even be issued a kit for the Falcons when Super Bowl LI kicks off Sunday (Monday morning AEDT).

The two-week hyping period ahead of the game is getting to the silliness stage, as players and commentators attempt to ensure that no coverage voids of any kind occur. Silence may be golden, but continuous talk spurs advertising revenues.

According to Ryan, “Blake’s been awesome. It’s really cool to have someone from Australia in our locker room.” Ryan was responding to a question posed by Fox Sports Australia.

Despite the fact that he will not suit up for the game, if the Falcons win, he will get one of the stupendously gaudy Super Bowl rings awarded to the winners every year.

Muir is from the Sutherland Shire in NSW, south of Botany Bay.
