TRACK NOT MAID TO ORDER

A track upgrade may be behind a lack of interest in Golden Rose favourite Bring me The Maid.

Despite firming in from $4.40, online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au reports little support for the $3.50 favourite.

The same can’t be said for Better Land ($7.00), who the punters have identified as value and remains the best backed runner.

“Bring Me The Maid’s last two wins were on heavy tracks. With the track now upgraded to slow it has also put the brakes on support for the filly,’’ sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson said.

Hallowed Crown has also failed to attract much interest and has drifted from $5.00 to $6.00.

Almalad, a $17 chance in the Melbourne Cup, is also being left alone by punters despite being a $9.00 chance.

In good news for punters, Sportsbet will be paying out four places in the Golden Rose!
